Abbot:  
*William (WILLIS) *Walter (WARD, CLARK, C4O) de Senteney plus *9 (FOX82) canons came from Newhouse Abbey, Lincs (H79) *8 canons (WILLIS, WARD, C40, SALTMAN, CLARK, WHITE, LYSONS, C/WC).  Thomas de Musca says de Senteney also founded Easby Abbey (Yorks), but Easby's foundation was *1151 (CLARK) *1152 (C40) and Walter died in 1231 (CLARK).

Canons included John de Byford, Roger d'Alesby, William le Sores (WARD), Hugh de Grymesby.
The foundation owned Stanley Village, also properties in Alvaston and Ockbrook.  It was endowed with the advowson of the churches of Heanor, Ilkestone [sic] and Kirk Hallam (WHITE, LYSONS).

Dale Abbey was consecrated on the 15th August 1204 (CLARK).  It was ready in 1204 (PREMONS).
