Heynings Priory (Nunnery)

Founded as a nunnery with a regular priest, c. 1135.  the priest may have been Cistercian with about 3 priest-brothers acting as chaplains to a few Cistercian lay-brothers who did the heavy work.  The principal priest-brother was called the prior.

Definitely Cistercian in 1347.  (KNOWLES)
