Simon,   ruled 5 years and 11 days from *1265 (M) *May 1267 (WARD) *1268 (H83, PAGE, C40C) to June *1270 (M) *1273 (H83, C41) *? (WARD)
 
Between 1268 and 1269/70 built 9 mills at Borrowash.  In 1269/70 Sir Thomas Bardulf claimed them, but he eventually surrendered his claim and gave Dale Abbey land in Ockbrook above the site of the 9 mills (C39).
 
1269 defended Dale Abbey's rights (C41) against Geoffrey de Stapleford (C41E) in Derby Assizes (C41) to 6 bovates of (C41E) land in Sandiacre, Normanton and Ockbrook (details in C41E).  Dispute settled out of court, the abbot paying 40 marks for the ownership of Ockbrook Mill.
 
1269 suffering an infirmity (C41).  Ardolf who challenged re land in Ockbrook said that when the abbot was well, he would grant land to the abbot or his successor in pure and perpetual alms (C41E).  This appears to have included the ownership of mills.
 
1270 appears as party to a covenant made on the feast of St Benedict (H83).
Geoffrey de Dethek granted lands in Stanton (C41).
 
Died probably 27th September because he appears in the Beauchief obituary for that day (H83).
