During Lent there were Wednesday night services in the school, with big congregations.

Harvest was 2nd Sunday in October, followed by a concert;  Castledine sang once.
Harvest Home tea the Friday before Harvest service:  home cured ham, sandwiches, cakes etc.  The tables were removed, then there was a concert, home grown except for the comedian.  The floor was cleared, then there was a dance, then on to supper at Bartlewood.
